No one likes to get up early in the morning. Statistics show that a higher percentage of the successful people in the world wake up before sunrise every day. Why would waking up early everyday make you more successful? Is it that jump start, or that you have more time in your own world to organize your day? Neither one of these matter of course. The only way to make your self get up early is to want it. What better way to want it then to prepare ahead.


5 tips to help create an early riser out of you:

1. Set an alarm for 1 minute after you originally wanted to get up. Everyone uses a snooze button but having more than one alarm eliminates that  “I’ll hit 5 minute snooze” feeling when your alarm tells you to get up. place the alarm on the other side of the room. Not far away to wake the house up, but far enough to make sure that you have to get out of bed to turn it off.

2. Waking up early requires decent sleep. Set a reminder for about an hour before you would like to go to sleep.  Make the reminder to prepare for whatever wakes you up in the mornings. I personally need coffee when I wake up so making coffee would be my reminder. Preparing for the morning the night before will help that morning routine get started and create such a better day.

Of course these programs can be used for any reminder. You might use 1 or more already. This is just another reminder about reminders.

3. breakfast breakfast breakfast! To wake up and get ready for the day your body needs nutrition. It always matter what you eat but at the beginning it doesn’t matter. Goal is getting yourself in the routine of eating in the morning.  My wife wakes up and drinks a coke some mornings but the majority of mornings she will eat something small. 2 years ago she never ate breakfast.  Even the small nibble of something will get your body going and in the future we will discuss the importance of eating a healthy breakfast.

4. STRETCH like you have never stretched before.  As soon as you wake up.  Just wake up, stand up, and give a good stretch. Try to get this one in before your second alarm goes off… literally. Yoga and Cardio are great options as well to jump start your morning. Anything that gets your blood pumping quickly will wake your brain right up.

5. Cold water and brush teeth are a must. I prefer to pour my coffee first and let it cool down for a minute then I brush my teeth but everyone is different and no order should be in place.  Just before you ingest anything else drink cold water and brush your teeth.  This is the ultimate wake up trick for rolling out of bed before the sun rises. Keep cold water bottles in the fridge for the morning and that cold water will get your body moving quick. Its like a shockwave rushing through your warm tired body.
